Star Trek Theme Park - Jordan

A Star Trek theme park is on the cards in Jordan, as $1.5b (£921m) of funding has been secured for a major tourism and theme park development. One of the main attractions will be a state of the art space flight simulator
King Abdullah II of Jordan is a Star Trek fan (he had a cameo role in Star Trek: Voyager in 1995) and the park is mainly funded by his Fund for Development.
Construction work on the 74 hectare project is expected to start in early 2012 and completed in 2014. The resort will also contain hotels, shops, restaurants and draw from Jordan’s Nabatean, Babylonian, British and Roman influences.
